Equip yourself for troubled times with expertise from the Brussels Diplomatic Academy
The worlds of international trade, diplomacy, state relations and financial stability appear to be in turmoil, but the Brussels Diplomatic Academy (BDA) offers a calm and practical vision on how to navigate and work in these tumultuous fields.
From understanding risk to the role of regional trading blocs, the logistics of international business and the vagaries of international investment, BDA graduates enter the world beyond the headlines where trade continues, states still engage in peaceful negotiations, and companies adapt to survive.
The BDA not only runs three Postgraduate Certificate programmes in Economic Diplomacy, International Trade and Investment, and the Flagship Programme in Economic Diplomacy and International Business but also offers short trainings and discussion and research opportunities such as roundtables, seminars, and film screenings.
“Our wide pool of experts means we have the luxury of choice in what we can offer” said Dr Cailin C E Mackenzie, BDA Director of Education. “We work with a range of partners on long and short-term projects and organise ad hoc events in response to world affairs. Our activities benefit from the neutrality and independence offered by our University setting.”
The BDA is currently accepting applications for its Postgraduate programmes, open to graduates from any academic discipline, and is preparing the calendar of activities for next semester which will include talks at the BDA House of Diplomacy, executive trainings such as Public Affairs and Corporate Diplomacy, and tailored training for civil servants from various countries.
Even as they revise for exams, VUB students can take note that when they are ready for their next steps the BDA can add value to their existing degrees and prepare them for the worlds of diplomacy and trade.
