The lecture will present an overview of EU-Asia SciTech Diplomacy, with a strong focus on future collaboration between the two continents. It will begin with a short overview of Belgium’s diplomatic structures and the current state of STI diplomacy, as well as about the contribution of BELSPO and the coordinating role of the Asia-Europe Foundation. This will be followed by a discussion of several key elements of STI diplomacy that could enhance and facilitate stronger collaboration. The lecture will conclude with a summary of the ASEF EU-Asia comparative report on STI Diplomacy and some final recommendations.
