On 2 June Michiel K Maertens, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Denmark, addressed diplomatic trainees of the Flemish government in a session provided by the Brussels Diplomatic Academy. He shared insights, encouragement, guidance and gentle warnings, in a relaxed and informative round off to this stage of their diplomatic training.

This was the first group to follow the Flemish government’s new programme for trainee diplomats, and the participants, including some in the Hague and London, successfully completed courses in Diplomatic Law and Diplomatic Protocol and Etiquette as provided for in the BDA Postgraduate certificate programme in Economic Diplomacy.
