Short bio:

Sarah Karinge holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, both from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, and has an honours degree in public administration and a post graduate Bachelors degree in Information Science from Punjab University, India.  Dr. Karinge’s doctoral program was oriented towards a hands-on approach that allowed her to concurrently work as a researcher and as independent development consultant.  As a consultant, she has worked with various European PMUs, UNCTAD, ITC and the ITU.  In the early nineties, Sarah was appointed as the Information Manager for Tetra Pak in Nairobi, Kenya, where she worked closely with Government departments, the dairy sector, farmers and farmer organizations as well other stakeholders in the packaging industry.  Reporting directly to the managing Director, she was also responsible for the corporate communication policy.   Prior to joining the packaging sector, she held the position of communication officer for the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) in Kenya.  Since 2004, Dr. Karinge has been the contact person for sub-Saharan African countries (a pro bono role) at the International School of Brussels.
