Short bio:

Luc Hens teaches economics and statistics at Vesalius College and at the Department of Applied Economics, Vrije Universiteit Brussel.  His research deals with international economics and development. Recent work (with Sofie Van den waeyenberg) investigated the scope for markets for the poor in developing countries (“Overcoming institutional distance: Expansion to base-of-the-pyramid markets,” Journal of Business Research, 65, 2012; and “Crossing the bridge to poverty, with low-cost cars,” Journal of Consumer Marketing, 25, 2008).
