Short bio:

Jianmei Gao (高建美) is a PhD candidate at the Private Economic Law department at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) where she carries out her research on Geographical Indication protection regimes in the EU and China. Her recent research mainly deals with Geographical Indication, Trade Mark, and Traditional Knowledge. Her research experience also covers legal issues related to Traditional Chinese Medicine (intellectual property right), network virtual property, pharmaceuticals test data, and personal genetic information.
