Biography
Guilherme (Gui) Athia is a Brazilian / Italian living and working in Brussels, Belgium since mid 2014. Gui has proven results leading areas of corporate communication, government relations, and social responsibility in consulting, consumer goods, automotive, and telco, in LATAM, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Gui assembled more than a dozen teams in different sectors and continents, at Alcatel Telecom, Renault-Nissan, Institutional, PMI and Nike – in Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has also founded and headed several commercial associations and think tanks in the USA, LA and Europe. He maintained relationships with many stakeholders, such as CEOs and board members, shareholders and investors, clients and consumers, supply chain and distributors, competitions, press, heads of state and public servants, international organizations, NGOs, communities and individuals. Guilherme adds business agility to the academic perspective. He built courses and lectured Marketing, Strategy and Governmental Relations classes in MBAs and Executive Programs. He is the coordinator of the Brussels Diplomatic Academy Stakeholder Capitalism Pillar and member of the INSEAD Leadership Academy. Guilherme has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, a graduate degree in Marketing, and a master’s degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
