Biography

Dr David Oliva Uribe has 20 years of experience in Scientific Research, Higher Education, and Innovation. He is currently Deputy Secretary General of the European Power Electronics Association.

David was Head of the Industrial Doctoral School of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, KIC EIT Digital, where he coordinated a European action in 12 Centres around Europe to foster University-Industry collaboration.

Before EIT Digital, Dr Oliva Uribe was Head of the Council of Doctoral Education of the European University Association, where he was responsible to coordinate a working group on public policies for doctoral education and careers for early-stage researchers with 230 European Universities in 35 countries.

He is founder of the Mexican Centre for European Collaboration in Education, Research and Technology, EUMex-Connect, with offices in Brussels, and Mexico City. At EUMex-Connect, Dr Oliva Uribe provides support to public and private institutions in Latin America, Europe and Asia to support strategies for research, innovation, internationalisation of higher education, open science and industry 4.0.

In February 2019 he was appointed Principal Advisor to the Director General of the Mexican National Science and Technology Council, CONACyT, where the emphasis of his work is to promote a structured collaboration between Mexico and the European Union.
