Short bio:

Lieven Denys is working as Professor European and International Tax Law and Estate Tax Law at the Law School of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels. He is member of the Brussels Bar and works as a lawyer in international tax law (in which he practiced as Senior Partner of the Brussels based international tax law firm ( KPMG) Tiberghien & co and Counsel with the niche law firm Greenille ( by Laga, an alliance of Deloitte). He practices also in public interest litigation (human rights issues). He sits as Judge-substitute at the Court of Appeal of Brussels (Tax Chamber) and was until June 2014 Assessor at the Conseil d’Etat (the Supreme Administrative Court, Legisprudential Chamber that advises Parliaments and Governments on the legality of draft legislation). Published many contributions and articles in the field of Belgian, European and International Tax Law and was member of several editorial boards.
